FAQ’s
Q: Will I loose low end performance with your porting?
A: No, all of our porting is designed to increase the power through the entire power curve. We use all the equipment, tumble meters and velocity probes to keep track of velocity inside the ports while also designing the port for maximum flow.
Q: Will I loose engine reliability from modifications made to my engine?
A: We use the highest quality parts in all our motors. Springs, for example, are made by the same company and to the same specifications that Indy cars have been using for many years now. We have found many of the weak links (including OEM parts) that contribute to engines failures such as cam buckets and connecting rods in some engines. We replace or specify recommend time intervals that theses parts should be replaced. However, we cannot offer any guaranties. As with any high performance race engine, you will never know when a part, OEM or aftermarket, will fail unexpectedly due to defect or fatigue.
Q: What kind of fuel do I need to run in a race engine?
A: All of our race engines are tuned for a specific race fuel that we use from Renegade Fuels. Although race fuel is recommended for our factory engine packages, not all modifications require the use of race fuel. We can tune a specific engine package for use with premium pump fuel.
Q: What exhaust system should I use with your engine package?
A: We have been working directly with FMF to design exhaust systems specifically for our engine packages. We test many of the different exhaust systems out there with our engines for the development of our custom systems. We are confident that we can supply you with the FMF system that will perform better than anything out there on the market.
Q: Can you recondition a cylinder head?
A: Yes. However, we will only recondition cylinder heads purchased directly from TUF Performance Products.
